Collect feature requests, bug reports and more with FeatureShift

Being able to quickly collect feature requests is an essential part when building a product for customers. You may have great ideas on what your product should offer, but are those really what your customers need? To find out, you can send them surveys via email and have them ignored by a big portion of receivers...

Or you could use FeatureShift. This easily allows you to create your own feedback board where your users can submit their feature requests and ideas. Involving your (paying) customers can be an extremely important part of a product journey. It shows that you care about their needs and are willing to improve your product by listening to your customers feedback.

You should not underestimate the impact this might have on the long run.

How to know what to work on next

Collecting valuable user feedback is only part of the journey. Actually implementing feature requests and ideas is another, bigger part. If you just receive feedback and never actually build any of those ideas, the trust you have build by offering an easy way for your customers to submit requests, may slowly diminish.

Enter "upvotes". The more upvotes a suggestion has, the more customers have a need for it. And by implementing those most-upvoted features, you satisfy more customers. It's a win-win, sort of.

Keeping your customers in the loop

It's important to update your customers whenever a submission hits a certain status. Your customers won't check your feedback board every day to see if there was a change with their submission. Whenever you change the status of a submission, you can (optionally) inform the person who submitted it, and also others who choose to subscribe to updates to a specific submission.

That way, anybody interested in changes of a submission will receive a short email, telling them that you have changed the status from, for example, "In Review" to "Planned", or maybe from "In Progress" to "Completed".

In addition to single submission updates, inform your general audience about updates by maintaining an active changelog. You can implement the changelog, we dubbed it "Announcements", directly in your product. No need for your audience to leave your website.

Good luck on your product journey! 🙏
